Profile

Dr Juliette Holland graduated MBBS from University College and Middlesex Hospital Medical School, University of London, UK, 1989. She worked in junior medical roles in the UK and Perth before commencing microbiology training at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and Royal Perth Hospital WA.

Juliette continued her registrar training at IMVS and the Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Adelaide. She gained her MSC from the University of Adelaide (Virology and Mycology) in 1997. She moved to ICPMR Westmead Hospital in Sydney in 1998 for post fellowship training and she also worked in Sexual Health Clinic and as deputy editor Medical Journal of Australia in 1999.

Juliette joined Mayne Health Laverty Pathology in 2000 and became Head of Department in 2003. She is responsible for supervision of microbiology staff to ensure accuracy and quality of results and she liases with referring physicians to communicate significant findings. Juliette’s areas of special interest include mycology, mycobacteriology, virology and genital tract infections.
