Professional Development
CPD Education Program For GP's
Laverty Pathology is committed to supporting the ongoing professional development of Medical Practitioners. In acknowledgment of this, Laverty Pathology hosts a structured quality education program supporting a range of educational activities delivered by qualified facilitators and planned with GP input in order to meet the expressed learning needs of participants.
Our education program includes what we see as topical subjects as well as clinical items requested by way of delegate feedback. We hope that our CPD program continues to maintain the high standards of our past programs and that the information and perspectives imparted by local and national experts will continue to meet your need.
Pathology Related Skills Training
Laverty Pathology training is recognised by doctors and pathology companies as quality training for pathology collectors and cytology screeners. Our Pathology Specimen Collection Course has been developed with relevant NSW health care peak bodies, employer and employee organisations and professional groups to meet the industry needs.
Training and Continuous Professional Development for Staff
Laverty Pathology has a policy of initiating and encouraging continuing education and training for all staff appropriate to the particular classification of staff. Initial training at the commencement of employment is carried out with each staff member being required to undergo a program of ongoing training on an annual basis. Staff members are assessed according to training already undertaken and the level of competency attained and a training plan formulated. Laverty treats the training of staff as a crucial component of our overall service delivery and has dedicated training resources in all pathology disciplines.
Laverty Pathology is the largest trainer of pathologists in the Australian private health sector. Laverty has shown, over many years, a commitment to education, training and continuous professional development of it's staff and medical affiliates. Relations with public institutions, ensure our registrars are exposed to both public and private pathology to broaden their experience.
As well, Laverty Pathology has entered into innovative training programs such as those which are federally funded under the Pathology Memorandum of Understanding (2005) and the Emil Von Behring Trainee awarded in 2006.
