Profile
Dr Chetty graduated from the Royal Colleges of Surgeons and Physicians in Dublin (Ireland) in 1961. He initially trained in General Pathology in South Africa and London and was appointed Consultant Pathologist / Senior Lecturer to the University Natal in South Africa.
On migration to Melbourne, Australia he worked as Registrar in Anatomical Pathology at Peter McCallum Cancer Institute, Royal Women's Hospital and St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne. Dr Chetty was then appointed Director of Pathology to Wallsend District Hospital in 1984 and worked for the Hunter New England Area Health Service until joining Laverty Pathology in 2008.
His pathology career includes working as a microbiologist, immunologist and clinical pathologist. Now his main interests lie in anatomical pathology and Post-graduate training of pathologists.
