Dr Andrew Gal graduated from Sydney University in 1972 and received his fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia in 1979. He is a member of the Australian Society of Cytology, the Australian Dermatopathology Society, the International Academy of Pathology and the American Society of Clinical Pathologists.
After being trained at Prince of Wales / Prince Henry Hospitals and St Vincent's Hospital Darlinghurst, Dr Gal was then appointed to the role of Medical Director of a Sydney private pathology practice specialising in anatomical pathology and cytology.
Since that date he has provided clinical consulting to a number of private pathology laboratories before joining SDS Pathology in 2004.
Dr Gal has specific expertise in frozen section diagnosis during skin cancer surgery and has specific interests in dermatopathology, uropathology and gastro-intestinal pathology.
Dr Gal holds a variety of hospital appointments including St Luke's Hospital, St Vincent's Private, Dalcross and NSW Private.
