Dr Tustin joined Laverty in 2010 with a wealth of public hospital experience after having worked for several years at Hawks Bay Hospital, New Zealand as Laboratory Director and Consultant Histo and Cytopathologist.
Dr Tustin has extensive experience in lymph node, prostatic, breast and gastrointestinal pathology. His expertise extends to cytopathology, both gynaecological and non-gynaecological, bone marrow and CT guided Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA) of lungs and other organs.
In 2008 Dr Tustin was appointed as the Senior Staff Specialist of anatomical pathology at Gosford Hospital and has spent many years working on special projects within the hospital laboratory. Projects of interest for Dr Tustin have included developing the Immunohistochemical service from a manual method to a fully automated service. Within the realm of cytopathology, he is currently in the process of developing a same-day fine needle aspiration (FNA) service.
Dr Tustin's appointment expands the range and availability of our Clinical Services throughout the Central Coast region. Dr Tustin is available five days per week by appointment for Fine Needle Aspirations, frozen sections and other related clinical services.
