About Dr Andrew Gal

Dr Andrew Gal graduated from the University of Sydney (MBBS) in 1972. He trained in Anatomical Pathology at St, Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney and was admitted to Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia in 1979. By 1980 through to 2004, Andrew practised as a histopathologist at several private laboratories, including one owned and directed by him. Andrew has worked closely with general plastic and, in particular, oculoplastic surgeons. And, in conjunction with surgical colleagues, he has developed a modified Moh’s technique for the extremely close excision of facial cancers and published data on 30 years’ experience in this field.


Andrew began working for Laverty Pathology in 2004. He is currently a Fellow of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists and continues to practice at numerous Sydney-based private hospitals including, St Vincent’s, St Luke’s, Westmead, North Shore and Sydney Private and Macquarie University Hospitals.
