Biography

Dr Wijayaratne graduated from University of Colombo, Sri Lanka (MBBS) in 1998. From 2001 to 2007 studied her Post-graduate training in pathology at Cancer Institute, Maharagama and Faculty of Medicine, Colombo, Sri Lanka. In 2008 was a Specialist pathologist at the Ampara General Hospital, and visiting lecturer at the University of Western Province, Sri Lanka before migrating to Australia in 2009. Between 2009 to 2012 she completed vocational training in Anatomical Pathology at Monash Medical Centre, Melbourne, and Healthscope Pathology, Sydney. Dr Wijayaratne was admitted to Fellowship of Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia, then in 2014 joined Laverty Pathology. At present, she is a senior lecturer at UNSW clinical school at Port Macquarie and regularly involves in multidisciplinary team meetings at Port Macquarie Base Hospital.
