Biography

Dr Rabbolini is a haematologist with a broad interest in thrombosis and haemostasis. He is currently employed as a coagulation specialist at Laverty pathology.  Dr Rabbolini completed both his Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery degrees at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa. In 2015 he successfully completed his specialty training in Haematology, gaining dual fellowships with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) and Royal College of pathologists of Australasia (RCPA). He has recently completed a PhD at the Northern Blood Research Centre, Kolling Institute of Medical research, University of Sydney. There his research focus was on the utilization of induced pluripotent stem cells for the investigation of inherited thrombocytopenia caused by mutations in hematopoietic transcription factors, as well as the use of next generation sequencing platforms for the investigation of these disorders. David’s work was nominated as one of the outstanding young scientist abstracts from the Asia – Pacific region in 2015 and he was awarded the Australasian Society of Thrombosis and Haemostasis medal in 2015 and was runner up in 2016.  David holds memberships with professional societies including the International Society of Thrombosis and Haemostasis and the Thrombosis and Haemostasis society of Australia and New Zealand and currently acts as peer reviewer for a number of international scientific journals in the field.
