We provide a mobile (home or in-facility) specimen collection service for patients who are genuinely unable to attend a pathology collection centre due to medical, mobility, or residential care needs. Mobile collections are prioritised based on clinical need to ensure service availability for patients who need it most.
How to book a mobile collection
- New patients: The request must be submitted by your healthcare provider.
Your doctor can either complete the online form on your behalf or write a signed note on your referral stating that a home visit is required and the reason why. - Existing mobile collection patients: You may submit your own booking online for subsequent eligible visits.
What to expect after submitting a booking
- You will be asked to select the day(s) you are available. Our team will book the next available appointment on one of those days.
- Appointment times are typically confirmed within 72 hours of receiving the request.
- You will receive a booking confirmation email once your appointment is scheduled.
- Our team may contact you if additional information is required.
Important notes
- Urgent bookings are only accepted when requested directly by healthcare providers.
- The online mobile collection booking form currently applies to metro areas.
- Patients must present the appropriate referral at each visit.
- Rule 3 patients:
- Must present their Rule 3 card/referral at every collection
- Must supply a new Rule 3 referral every 6 bookings
- May book future appointments online and upload the new referral
