Dr Elizabeth Barr is a University of Sydney graduate. She trained as a pathologist at Sydney’s Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and London’s St Thomas’ Hospital. During her training she completed an Advanced Dermatopathology course at St John’s Institute of Dermatology in London. On graduation, she began working at Symbion Pathology and later Histopath Specialist Pathologists. In 2010, Dr Barr joined Laverty Pathology and has been the Histopathology department head for the past two years. She is a member of the Australian Gastrointestinal Pathology Society, the European Network of Gastrointestinal Pathology and the Australasian Dermatopathology Society. Dr Barr is a member of the Gastrointestinal Module of the Anatomical Pathology Quality Assurance Program.
