Loui completed his Pathology training at John Hunter hospital in Newcastle and in Sydney at Douglass Hanley Moir Pathology. During his training he spent some time at Mayo clinic in Arizona, USA. Loui was appointed as conjoint lecturer at the University of Newcastle and has a number of publications. He also served on the hunter cancer biobank management committee, the RCPA pathology update overseeing committee and the trainee committee.

After obtaining the fellowship of The Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia Loui worked in private practice in Brisbane. He further advanced his skills in Dermatopathology as a visiting fellow at the prestigious UCSF Dermatopathology service in USA. Loui joined Laverty Pathology in 2019.
