Biography

Professor Mulligan graduated with Honours from the University of NSW (MBBS) in 1978. He was admitted to Fellowship of Royal College of Pathologists of Australasian and Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 1985. He then completed his vocational training in haematology at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney in 1988. After being awarded his PhD from University of Sydney in 1990, he joined LAV Pathology where he is currently Head of department of Haematology.

Professor Mulligan is also the Senior Staff Specialist Haematologist at the Royal North Shore Hospital Sydney and Head CLL Research Group, Kolling Institute, University of Sydney. He’s received several research grants in Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia (CLL) and published numerous papers in noted medical journals. A Principal Investigator for several national and international CLL clinical trials, Stephen is passionate about his role as Adjunct Senior Lecturer, Associate Professor, Professor for the School of Molecular Bioscience, University of Sydney. He is the Founder and Chairman of Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia Australian Research Consortium (CLLARC) and currently sits on Scientific Advisory Committee, Australasian Leukaemia and Lymphoma Group (ALLG), and Head CLL Disease Group.
